The Sitges Hills Area

View of the Penedes vineyardsThe beautiful countryside just outside of Sitges is an ideal location for those looking for a holiday with more space and tranquility and yet still being close to Sitges town, the beaches and all of the other fantastic attractions the area has to offer. Another great benefit of a holiday in this area is that the property rental prices are lower and so you get a lot more for your money.

Just a few minutes inland from the bustling seaside resort of Sitges is a completely different world. This is a beautiful area of pine covered hills bordering the magnificent Garraf Natural Park on one side and the world-famous Penedes wine and cava producing region on the other. Verdant vineyards and historic Masias fill the valleys and attractive communities dot the wooded hillsides.

The Olivella area offers the calm, beauty and serenity of a rural idyll and yet is just 10 minutes drive from the fashionable and bustling seaside resort of Sitges with its safe sandy beaches, bars, cafes, shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Further afield, the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its Gaudi architecture and world-beating football club is just a 40 minute drive away. The Penedes wine region and Garraf Natural Park are on the doorstep, and further afield there are numerous historic towns and cities, beautiful beaches and the Pyrenees mountains for you to explore. The South of France is only a 2 hour drive.

As a family holiday destination the Sitges Hills area surely has it all. Large family friendly villas with private swimming pools set in a safe and attractive environment, and just a short drive from beautiful sun-drenched Mediterranean beaches and world class tourist facilities. The climate is generally mild and dry all year making it an ideal destination for out of season breaks as well as summer holidays.

There are so many attractions and interesting places within a daytrip distance from the area that you will never be stuck for an interesting alternative to lounging by the pool or roasting on the beach. In the local area there are plenty of bars and cafes along with a number of very good restaurants.

There are unlimited opportunities for enjoying sports and outdoor activities. The nearby Garraf Natural Park has hundreds of kilometers of marked trails for walking and mountain biking. There are tennis courts in the area and a number of golf courses within an hours drive. Sailing, diving, paddleboarding, snorkelling, windsurfing, surfing, jet skiing, kayaking and other water based sports are available in nearby Sitges and Vilanova.
