Aqualeon Water Park and Safari
Awesome Fun on Your Sitges Holiday: Aqualeon Water Park and Safari
During your stay with Sitges Hills Villas, treat the family to a fantastic day out at Aqualeon Water Park and Safari, two exciting parks in one. Whether you love jumping aboard thrill rides, careering down slides, relaxing on the water or observing exotic wildlife, put on your swimsuit and grab your camera for plenty of fun and adventure-filled hours. There is a range of thrilling activities and attractions for young and old alike.
With more than 800,000m2, Aqualeon is one of the largest family water parks in Europe and the only park in Spain to combine a water park with a safari.
Make a Huge Splash
Aqualeon has plenty of water-based rides to cool down and have some fun. For adventure and adrenalin-fuelled joy, send your body hurtling down Kamikaze, an extreme attraction that propels riders toward the ground at high speed. Brave the Anaconda, an exhilarating ride featuring two long and fast intertwined tubes. One of the biggest and most exciting attractions is Toboloko. The roller coaster in the water extends over 100 meters and has a drop of 13 meters. It’s not for the faint of heart.
Experience the thrill of having 1-metre high waves crashing over you at the attraction’s Surf Beach, a 1,400m2 pool with simulated waves. Climb into an inflatable tube for one of the park’s coolest rides, the Rapid River. Those with a competitive edge can race each other down the three slippery tracks of the Crazy Race ride. Then summon up the courage for the Black Hole, more than 100 metres of drops, slopes and bends…in the dark! Gulp.
When you want a break from the high speed activities, or if adrenalin adventures are not your thing, relax in one of the many sunbathing areas or by the palm-tree fringed Surf Beach. For younger members of the family, there’s Children’s Paradise. This is a water wonderland of mini slides, showers, shutes, water-spouting hippos and a climbing frame island, all set in a colourful pool area.
A Wild Adventure
Once you have enjoyed the thrills, spills, rides and slides, go on an animal adventure at Aqualeon’s safari park. See some of the world’s most exotic and intriguing creatures in settings that closely resemble their natural habitats. More than 600 animals freely roam across hundreds of thousands of square metres of parkland and prairie. They include Bengal tigers, lions, llamas, brown bears and jaguars. You can also get closer to some of the animals by climbing aboard the double decker safari bus that travels through the extensive grounds. Typically, the bus departs every thirty minutes from late morning until late afternoon.
The safari park also features a mini zoo, which is a favourite of young children. Among the animals they can see are chimpanzees, meerkats, miniature horses, emus and wallabies.
Don’t leave the park without catching one of the live daily shows. The Bird of Prey show is particularly impressive.
Dinner Time
When you’re feeling hungry, make your way to one of the park’s cafés or snack bars, serving salads, light meals and fast foods. There is also a picnic area, although customers are not permitted to bring in their own food.
Season of Fun
Aqualeon is open from June until September and the admission price includes both the water park and the safari park. There are discounts if you book online at the theme park’s official website and further price reductions are available for children less than 10 years old and senior citizens who are over 65 years old.
In addition to the entrance fee, there are other costs you may need to pay, including parking, sunbed and locker hire. There are also charges for single and double inflatable tubes, although each water attraction offers free tubes as well.
If you forget your suntan lotion, the children’s inflatable arm bands or sunglasses, don’t worry. The park’s gift shop is filled with all the summer and poolside essentials.
This Way for Nonstop Fun
Aqualeon is approximately 40 kilometres south of Sitges. One of the most convenient ways to get there is by taking the daily bus that departs from the bus stop on Vilanova Avenue, in front of bar Triana. The journey takes approximately one hour and a half. If you are driving, the route along the C-31 and AP-7 is straightforward. More details about routes to Aqualeon can be found on the attraction’s website.
Ticket Prices And Opening Hours
At the time of going to press tickets were priced from around 20 euros for adults, 12 euros for kids and 8 euros for toddlers. It’s always worth chekcing the latest special offers as you can make savings from special promotions and ‘family’ or other ‘group’ tickets.
The park is open every day from late June to the first week in September. Opening hours are generally 10.30 am to 6.30pm but check the offical site for confirmation before traveling. Full details of latest ticket prices and opening hours can be found on the official Aqualeon website.
With nature, excitement and adventure, Aqualeon is one of our favourite days out from Sitges and a great way for the whole family to spend a sweltering summer day. Have fun!
