Masia Cabellut is a stunning and beautifully restored old manor house that began its history as early as the 12th century. In 1745, documents issued by the King of Spain recognised the owner as Josep Bondo de la Bisbal del Penedes. At the end of the 18th century, it was an important hostel for pilgrims and other travellers on the old Roman Road and later provided shelter for Napoleon’s troops during the Napoleonic Wars.
It has always been a family business and throughout the centuries only a few have had the privilege of owning this historic place Now Masia Cabellut belongs to two European families – Johnsen and van Buitenen – who have lovingly transformed the property into what is now a luxurious holiday retreat and event space offering 7 ensuite bedrooms, spacious communal areas, a stunning 20m x 6m infinity swimming pool, 3,000 m2 of beautiful aromatic gardens and its own vineyard.
The owners have been careful to maintain the original character and historic integrity of the property and then cleverly blended Spanish and Catalan heritage with modern, stylish minimalism furnishings to create a unique residence offering space, privacy and luxury to make your holiday or occasion a truly unforgettable experience.
The house nestles in its own 30 hectare private valley close to the small and welcoming village of Masllorenç and surrounded by its own working vineyards, olive and almond groves. Despite its rural location, Masia Cabellut is less than an hour from Barcelona airport and half an hour from Reus airport. The beaches of the Mediterranean coast are just 20 km away and guests can admire sea views from the hills surrounding the property. It borders two famous wine regions (Penedés and Tarragona) and so the local area offers guests a wealth of wine and gastronomic experiences.
The 1,000 m2 of floorspace comprises of 7 bright and spacious double ensuite bedrooms including a vast master suite with amazing vineyard views, a private dining room with outside terrace facilities overlooking the valley, a bar and wine cellar to try the best of Masia Cabellut’s own produce, a lounge and an infinity pool, a large and cosy living room with the entrance to a beautiful inner courtyard that provides cool and welcoming shade on hot summer days.
