It is no exaggeration to say that Almiral de la Font is one of the most impressive and spectacular holiday properties in the Sitges area.

This historic building was built around 1592 and then extended in 1800. The extensive grounds include vineyards that provide grapes to the world-class cava houses like Freixenet and Cordoniu as well as a number of local producers. Wandering the 14 kilometers of private tracks you will also come across pear, olive, cherry, walnut and almond trees.

Almiral de la Font is just a short drive from Sitges, and only 30 kilometers south of Barcelona. Staying at historic Almiral is a truly unique experience having been restored with great skill, care and attention to detail by the current owners. This beautiful masia (Catalan manor house), offers high-tech modern comforts whilst retaining the historic charm and character of the original building.

VER MAS

Set high on a hillside in the Penedes wine region, the masia is surrounded by the beautiful Garraf Natural Park and offers dramatic sea or mountain views from every room or terrace. This tranquil haven has more than 300 acres of private grounds with vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees, yet is only a 30 minute drive from Barcelona and 10 minutes from the lively beach resort of Sitges.

The masia is located just two kilometers from the traditional town of Sant Pere De Ribes. The well-known seaside town of Sitges is 6 kilometers away and Barcelona is only a 30-minute drive. Barcelona airport is 25 minutes away and Reus (Tarragona) airport is less than an hour away.

Also in Penedes wine region and its capital, Vilafranca, is just a 15 minute drive. The town of Tarragona and theme park Port Aventura are each a 45 minute drive.

Bedroom / Bathroom Description

The casita adjoins the Main House separated by a patio area. It is a two storey cottage which is open plan. It is entirely separate from the main house and as well as access from the main house has its own drive from the dirt road which runs along the side.

It has a bathroom to the right on entry beyond which is a fully fitted kitchen and small dining area. Past the kitchen is a lounge with double sofa bed. The upstairs area is a mezzanine construction split into two areas in which there is a double and single bed. To go upstairs you will need to negotiate a spiral staircase which is not suitable for the elderly.

The casita is a simpler cozier style to the main house and offers extra space which is communicable with the main house but also allows families or teenagers a separate and distinct place.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS

The rental is comprised of both the main masia and a casita. The masia is suitable for large families, corporate groups and special events such as weddings, filming and production launches.

Adjoining the masia is the casita, a storybook two-storey cottage, an ideal private area for teenagers or couples to have their own space. Rustic stone walls, soft hues and vibrant furnishings decorate both the casita and masia. Though most original aspects were preserved, the windows have been enlarged to allow even more sunlight to illuminate the space.

Bedroom 5 – Japanese Room

2 twin beds, ensuite bathroom with shower, standing fan, WiFi, Mountain and sea views.

Bedroom 6 – Ochre Room

2 single beds, ensuite bathroom with shower, Standing fan, WiFi, mountain views.

Bedroom 7 – Bali Room

King size bed, ensuite bathroom with shower, standing fan, WiFi, mountain and vineyard views.

Suite 3 – East Wing

1 king size bed, sofa bed in separate sitting area, ensuite bathroom with shower, sitting area, standing fan, WiFi, mountain, sea and vineyard views.

Bedroom 9 –Margallo

King sized double bed (can be changed to two twins), ensuite bathroom with shower, overhead fan, WiFi, patio terrace area with sun-loungers.

2nd Floor

Bedroom 10 – Gold Suite

1 king size bed, sofa bed in separate sitting area, ensuite bathroom, sitting area, A/C, WiFi, mountain, pool and sea views, private terrace with sun-loungers.

INTERIOR

Almiral De La Font is a substantial private residence with a living area of over 1,300 m2 for guests to enjoy. Even when fully occupied the house is still large enough to allow you as much space and privacy as you like.

The house has been thoughtfully and sympathetically designed to provide modern and hi-tec comforts, while still retaining the historical essence. Many original features have been preserved and where possible the atmosphere and ambience have been enhanced through enlarging window spaces and building balconies.

The masia has been sumptuously furnished throughout with a clever mix of antique period pieces and quirky artistic flourishes.

There is a fully equipped modern kitchen, a Scandinavian style fireplace lounge, a TV lounge (with satellite TV), a surround sound plasma screen home cinema, a games room, a wine cellar, a conference / meeting room, a banquet room, a snooker / pool room, and a childrens playroom. The house is partly air conditioned and centrally heated.

GARDENS & OUTSIDE SPACES

The outside spaces at Almiral De La Font are delightful. The front of the property has a large and attractive tiled courtyard with palm and citrus trees and an atmospheric Moroccan lounge providing welcome shade from the hot afternoon sun. The courtyard provide an excellent space for outdoor events and dining for large groups.

The grounds of Almiral De La Font stretch to over 300 acres with 14 kilometers of private tracks that meander through vineyards, olive groves, pear, almond and other fruit trees. There are stunning sea and mountain views from all around the property.

The centrepiece of the main courtyard is a truly stunning 18.6m x 6m solar heated infinity swimming pool. After a swim you can sunbathe on one of the plentiful sun beds that surround the pool or simply relax under a sunshade. There is also a table tennis table and basketball net for some competitive group fun!

Acabo de regresar de una estancia de 5 días en esta villa absolutamente increíble. Tiene todo lo que usted quiere y necesita para un descanso de lujo en el sol. Pablo, el propietario de la villa, era tan útil antes de nuestras vacaciones, proporcionando recomendaciones de proveedores para nuestra primera noche, que yo recomendaría a fondo, las mejores tapas nunca, preparado en la villa por Gill. Paul nos recibió a su llegada a la villa y nos dio un recorrido y guía de todas las muchas comodidades de la villa, también muy amablemente nos ayudó con el transporte cuando tuvimos algunos problemas con nuestro proveedor. Nuestra boda en el Almiral de la Font fue una experiencia mágica. Mientras visitábamos Sitges antes de nuestra boda para solidificar nuestros planes, desafortunadamente llegamos durante una huelga de transporte. Paul fue lo suficientemente amable para recogernos en la estación de tren de Sitges y nos acompañan a Almiral de la Font. Desde el momento en que llegamos a la villa, sabíamos que habíamos hecho la elección correcta. Las fotos no pueden hacer justicia a la belleza del lugar, incluso sin decoración. Nos casamos a mediados de octubre y el tiempo era perfecto para una boda al aire libre. Las flores que crecen en el exterior de la villa estaban todavía en flor y la carpa sobre la zona de asientos creado un impresionante telón de fondo hermoso para nuestros discursos de boda + cena. Nuestro grupo de novios se alojó en las 13 habitaciones con baño del lugar y todo fue perfecto. ¡El lugar en sí es tan hermoso y mi marido y yo tenemos fotos increíbles con sólo caminar alrededor de la propiedad - no hay necesidad de una segunda ubicación disparar! ¡Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar!

We have recently got married in the amazing Almiral de la Font near Sitges and I can’t recommend it highly enough to everyone!!! As soon as I saw the venue i knew that it was the place where I wanted to get married and it didn’t disappoint. Every room in the house is breathtaking and our guests couldn’t believe they were staying there. Also, the owners are lovely and really helpful and we only wished we could have stayed longer than two nights but we will be back again for longer !!! Our wedding planner, Val (weddings via val) was great and I would highly recommend her if you wanted to plan your big day at Almiral. She has planned so many weddings at this venue and she knows all the local suppliers so the organisation of the day was incredible!! The guests all commented that it was the best wedding in terms of venue, location and food (sensacions!) that they had ever been to. Everyone was very upset to be leaving after two nights but it was a wedding day to remember!! Thanks Almiral x
Glorious Amid Nowhere' - Runenaljo, USA January 2015
Little wonder the Hazienda-esque estate Almiral de la Font is used as a backdrop for films: It’s a breathtakingly gorgeous place that spoils the newcomer at once. Spacious to host even 50 people for a party (probably many more, but I haven’t tried or witnessed) and a dozen or so sleepers, with comfort. The slight mildewy smell in the outsourced little guesthouse knocks off a point, because that’s simply not something that should occur amid perfection, but even that was on the subtle side. Pool is sizable, the outdoor area vast, the Foosball table keeps the boys busy, the pool table isn’t very useful with too little space around it, and you can hit your head on the low doorways. But instead of being angry at an 15th century architect, it’s probably best just to pay more attention next time. Glorious, in short, even with minor niggles

We recently got married at Almiral de la Font we had 80 guests -25 of whom stayed in the villa. It is the most fabulous venue full of character the perfect place to bring family and friends together. It has the most amazing setting – the beautiful terrace with bougainvillea and vines, the surrounding hills and vineyards – it is better than the photos! The villa has been so thoughtfully renovated – everything is ‘thought of’ – the BBQ area with fridges and bar, the infinity pool & hot tub, Moroccan lounge, thoughtfully designed rooms with interesting bespoke furniture, kids play areas and the wedding decking area up in the trees. Paul (the owner) was great to deal with (with my endless emails!) and very helpful giving us information on the local suppliers. Lots of guests commented that it was the best wedding they had been to in-terms of food (Sensacions catering- totally amazing) and venue. We look forward to celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary at Almiral De La Font!

We booked the villa for a week and used it as our wedding venue. What can I say! The villa is simply stunning and is a fantastic place to chill out or have a party. Paul has been brilliant and nothing has been too much trouble. Our guests on the wedding day were blown away it makes a beautiful setting for a special occasion. We also hired the chef (Gill) who cooked a lovely meal the night after the wedding which everybody enjoyed. Bill who was the maintenance guy was fab! Very helpful. I would 100% recommend this villa and would love to return some day the trouble is you just don’t want to go home!!!

We celebrated our wedding together with 35 relatives and friends and experienced our five days at the property as an absolute bliss. Almiral de la Font offered us the perfect location for two families and friends to get to know each other in absolute ideal surroundings. The house and surroundings offer a homely, yet luxurious feel and everyone felt comfortable from the first moment of arrival. I can say that in reality villa with its unique interiors looks even better than on the pictures on the web-site. Every room has its distinctive style and everything left to chance! Barcelona and Sitges are only a hop skip away offering endless activity opportunities and for those who preferred to stay at the villa enjoyed the pool, table tennis and all other facilities available. Thanks a lot to the villa’s chef – Gillian, she cooked for us every day and everything – food and service, was absolute top class! We look forward to coming back to Almiral for our Wedding anniversary.

It was genuinely Spanish, set apart, very roomy with many spaces for people to have privacy outside their room, plenty to do, a great pool and kitchen, and plenty of space in the bedrooms. Easy access to Sitges. Paul was a great host, and the staff were both attentive and responsive to our needs. Gillian provided excellent services as a chef on three evenings, and we were able to eat outside just about every night. We got great support from the central office staff as well. The only thing that could have been better was the last stretch of road up to the villa; it is not in good shape at all. It was a delightful bonus to have our rental car delivered to the villa. Many thanks for a great experience!
