After 14 years of painstaking renovation works, the 17th Century Masia has been meticulously transformed into a luxury holiday house and event venue.

Masia Mas Santo is a majestic manor house nestles on a peaceful hilltop in the famous Penedes wine region and offers wonderful views across the Catalan countryside and out to the deep blue Mediterranean sea in the distance.

This tranquil haven has more than 300 acres of private grounds with vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees, yet is only a 45-minute drive from Barcelona and 20 minutes from the lively beach resort of Sitges.

Dating back to 1608, Masia Mas Santo consists of the main house, an annex and a suite offering attractive and comfortable accommodation for groups of up to 20 to 32 guests. Though totally renovated and adapted to a high standard of modern comfort, the original details have been lovingly preserved with terracotta tiled floors, white washed walls, exposed stone and wooden windows.

Outside is a truly spectacular 20m x 8m private saline swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds on the surrounding terrace on which to relax and soak up the warm Mediterranean sun. There is also a spacious lounge area, outdoor kitchen and BBQ as well as several private chill-out zones for quiet contemplation time. Feel free to wander through the 50,000 sqm of delightful private grounds filled with native plants and trees.

Despite offering a peaceful and relaxing haven there is so much to do and see right on the doorstep. The nearest beach is just 5 minutes by car, the bustling seaside resort of Sitges is 20 minutes and you can be in the heart of cosmopolitan Barcelona within 45 minutes.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS

The rental is comprised of the main house, an annex and a suite. The main building has 7 spacious bedrooms and 4 shared bathrooms. The first floor features 4 bedrooms and the ground floor features 3 bedrooms. The annex has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The suite has 1 bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

The Annex
The annex is a detached building commonly found in the Spanish rural areas. The ground floor features a 6 sqm local Catalan style kitchen, fully equipped with fridge, freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, stove with 4 gas burners, dishwasher and all necessary utilities for basic meals for the guests staying in the annex.

There is also a chill-out lounge and a terrace with pool view. It has access to a courtyard at the backside of the villa.

The annex has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

The Suite
The suite is accessed via stairs. It has a lovely private terrace overlooking the pool and garden and features a 18 sqm bedroom and an ensuite bathroom

Bedroom 10: double bed (180 x 200 cm)

There are 2 additional single beds that can be added to the sleeping arrangements to make a total of 22 guests. These beds have an additional charge of 50 Euros per night for each bed.

The Maisonnette
In addition to the above accommodation there is the ‚THE MAISONNETTE‘ that can sleep a further 6 people at an additional cost.

The maisonnette is only rented to host extra guests.

It features two bedrooms, a bathroom and an optional sofa-bed.

It has access to the courtyard and the square in front of the venue.

INTERIOR

Masia Mas Santo is a sizeable private residence with a living area of over 500 square metres for guests to enjoy. Even when fully occupied the house and gardens are still large enough to allow you as much space and privacy as you like. There is 3G WiFi internet coverage of the whole house and grounds.

Living Rooms & Lounges

The villa consists of 500 sqm of charming interior living space. From the entrance of the property, you access the house via the stairs, crossing an attractive 35 sqm terrace overlooking the pool and garden. Entering the masia on the first floor you will find the open kitchen, dining area and living space.

The dining area of 30 sqm on the first floor is located next to the open kitchen and has a large table with seating for 25 guests. The living room of 40 sqm on the first floor is located next to the dining area and open kitchen and is well furnished with 3 sofas, music stereo, flat screen TV with DVD player and a wide selection of SAT TV channels. There is also a fireplace for those cooler out of season evenings.

The former wine and olive storage cellar located on the ground floor of the main building has been converted to communal space with a sofa of 180 x 400 cm. The annex has an open kitchen of 35 sqm with dining table for 6 guests and a living area with sofa, flat screen TV with DVD player and full selection of SAT TV channels .

Kitchen Facilities

Masia Mas Santo has 2 interior kitchens and 1 exterior kitchen for guest use. The 12 sqm kitchen on the first floor is fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, Nespresso and filter coffee machine, toaster, microwave, blender, hand blender, dishwasher, stove with 8 gas burners, 2 ovens and 1 pizza oven, and all necessary utilities to create meals for 20 or more guests.

The 6 sqm open kitchen of the annex is a typical Catalan style kitchen, fully equipped with fridge, freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, stove with 4 gas burners, dishwasher and all necessary utilities for basic meals for the guests staying in the annex.

The outdoor kitchen located at the pool area features a sink, fridge, small freezer, electric BBQ, dishwasher and utilities for outdoor catering for 20+ guests.

Dining Areas

The villa has several dining areas for guests to enjoy, both indoor and outdoor. The dining area on the first floor located next to the open kitchen has a big table for 25 guests and access to the terrace overlooking the garden and pool.

The dining area next to the pool is surrounded by a tiled terrace featuring a big table for 30 guests with chairs and sail shade for sun protection for fantastic outdoor meals. Larger event meals can be held in the open courtyard space in front of the house.

GARDENS & OUTSIDE SPACES

Outside is a beautiful 20m x 8m private saline swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds on the surrounding terrace on which to relax and soak up the warm Mediterranean sun.

There is also a spacious lounge area with seating for 30 guests, outdoor kitchen and BBQ as well as several private chill-out zones for quiet contemplation time. Feel free to wander through the 50,000 sqm of delightful private grounds filled with native plants and trees.

There is 3G WiFi internet coverage of the whole grounds and outside spaces. There is also a ping pong table and playground with swings and trampoline to keep the kids happy. There is also on-site parking for 30 cars.

THINGS TO DO

There are so many ways to enjoy the days and nights at Masia Mas Santo but you’ll find so much to experience and enjoy in the local area if you can drag yourself away.

The bustling seaside town of Sitges is just a 20-minute drive away. Sitges has just about everything you need on a holiday: sandy beaches, cool bars, quality restaurants, fashionable boutiques, festivals, fireworks, culture, nightlife and élan.

Why not visit a local winery such as Torres, Finca Viladellops or Torre del Veguer? The legendary Cava Houses of Freixenet and Cordoniu are not too far away and offer fascinating and insightful tours.

The wonderful cosmopolitan city of Barcelona with its world-class attractions is a 45-minute drive and can also be easily reached by train or bus.

For those looking for more energetic distractions the nearby Mediterranean coast with its golden sandy beaches and numerous marinas offers unlimited opportunities for water based sports and boat rentals.

The Garraf Natural Park is close by and provides hundreds of kilometres of fantastic hiking and mountain bike trails to enjoy. There are tennis clubs and several good golf courses in the area.

There is a choice of theme parks and attractions within an hour or so drive including Port Aventura, one of the biggest in Europe.

– There is an option to rent the maisonette, at the full fee.

– Extra guests (up to 32 guests), will be accommodated with extra beds in the main villa, in the maisonette and in 2 glamping tents, please ask for a quote.

– (For extra guests (25 to 32 guests), the maisonette will be rented for 24 guests, see quotes above. The quote per extra guest from 25 is €50 p.p.p.n.
– Guest 25 and 26 will use the sofa bed in the maisonette
– Guest 27 and 28 will use the 2 extra beds placed in a bedroom in the villa.

We had an amazing time at Mas Santo which is in a brilliant setting in the hills above Cunit. Although not in the best location for getting to beaches, it was a perfect villa for a big group of us (23 people) – with all the facilities we needed and with beds to spare. The villa has a huge kitchen with everything you need, and a great pool area with plenty of chairs and table space for enjoying long lazy meals. Carmen (the owner) has been very helpful and prompt at returning our deposit. Meno (the caretaker) is also great and thoroughly willing to assist if needs be. I would highly recommend Mas Santo for any large group.

Serenity is what I felt as soon as I arrived at Mas Santo. There are so many different angles, rooms and spots at the terrain that it is easy to relax. I enjoyed some time by myself, it is completely quiet. The nature is amazing. Even at the hillside herbs and flowers are growing everywhere! Carmen and Fares were wonderful hosts and the food was delicious with pure ingredients. I am looking forward to coming here again!

It is a beautiful, historic villa with modern and luxurious amenities – an ideal venue for either a relaxing vacation with a large group or a larger event such as a wedding. The property and villa afford a great deal of privacy, but is close to Sitges and Barcelona. It is a wonderful event location and Carmen introduced us to our wedding planner and did everything she could to help make our event a success. We would go back any time for a vacation and it was a perfect location for our wedding.
